After receiving an automatic nomination following our success in 2020 (we won the Best Drug Discovery CRO of the Year – Europe award), Global Health & Pharma’s team of thorough researchers and judges have recognised our services in this sector for the second year running.
Going above and beyond in services to healthcare
In its seventh year, Global Health & Pharma’s (GHP) Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards recognise companies and individuals who have gone above and beyond in their services to healthcare over the past year. At Domainex, we build strong relationships with our clients to advance their therapeutic research projects. We’re proud that our reputation for technical excellence and innovation has been recognised with this latest award. Our fully integrated, co-located drug discovery services are clearly delivering impact to our clients, whether it be advancing to the next stage of the drug discovery value chain, securing new funding, or seeing our clients filing for patent protection. We’re glad to be able to offer such a range of services and a truly proprietary technology platform. With services including medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, protein expression & purification, X-ray crystallography, assay development and compound screening, we’re serving pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as academic and patient foundations globally.
Reflecting on our clients’ successes
GHP endeavours to recognise businesses that are making meaningful steps forward, and we want to take this opportunity to reflect on the successes we have helped our clients achieve.
With our support, three of our clients’ programmes have reached the clinic, and we’ve identified important pre-clinical candidates for a further six clients. Our support has helped clients at both early and late stages of their projects: while many projects are reaching late-stage research, we’ve also enabled projects to progress to a point where they can obtain further funding.
A great example of this is the Factor XII programme with Lunac Therapeutics, a spin-out from the University of Leeds. The aim of the partnership is to discover novel anticoagulant therapies that have a reduced risk of bleeding compared to current therapies. Domainex has been supporting this programme, from inception, by providing fully integrated drug discovery services and this has enabled Lunac to raise significant funds.
Drug discovery on a global scale
The Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards recognise global achievements. We’re immensely proud of our growth from our beginning 20 years ago as a fledgling small molecule research organisation. To have won Best Drug Discovery CRO 2021 is a clear testament to the global appeal of our innovative drug discovery service platform.
Our current expert team is made up of over 10 nationalities, and we work with clients from as far afield as the West Coast and Australia. Since 2019, we’ve partnered with dozens of overseas clients from many different countries. In 2020 we generated more custom from international collaborators than those based in the UK.
Reflecting on the future
Our goal is to build upon our achievements and to keep growing organically, investing our profits to bring new offerings to the market. By continuing to support our excellent team of scientists to find innovative solutions to our clients’ most challenging drug discovery projects, we are striving to maintain our reputation as a leading global drug discovery CRO in the coming year and beyond.
